If you wish to trace a call, hang up on the caller to get a dial tone, immediately Press *57. A recording will prompt you with instructions to Press 1 to make the trace or to hang up if you do not wish to trace. On completion of the trace attempt, you will then get a message that the “trace has been successful/unsuccessful.”
The number you traced will be recorded at the phone company, and if you decide to follow up on the matter, we will provide the information to the local authorities for you on receipt of an official request from them.
There is a charge for this report. Trace must be done as soon as you hang up on the call you wish to trace. If a call comes in or you hear a Call Waiting tone before initiating the trace, you’ll trace the wrong number.
